11 weeks

Thursday we were officially 11 weeks! I have a very tiny bump (probably from the food I eat and not from Baby H) but it is there. One of my closest friends, Mary, said that when I get pregnant make sure I take a picture every week because "you will think you are getting big then you look back and say wow I was tiny then!" I cannot wait to tell her that we are pregnant! So here is our 11 week picture...

making room

I am not sure if it is all the delicious peanut butter special K bars my mom made me or if it is the baby, but my stomach is getting bigger and pants are getting tighter. Today was my first day of having to unbutton my pants, and of course I was at work. Sitting in my guiding reading group for an hour was too much for me...my pants were unbuttoned by 9:15am and stayed that way until I got hope and put on sweats.

Sweats are going to be my best friend; I need to finds some cute yoga pants that I can wear all day on the weekends!

We are 11 weeks tomorrow!

Manhattan Beach

I wrote this when we got back from Manhattan Beach, but I could not post it until we went to Oregon...

LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Last weekend, we went to Manhattan Beach to visit my aunt and uncle. We were very excited to go and get out of the Arizona heat. We knew we were not going to be able to hide Baby H from them, and so made the decision to tell them. Also, we would be seeing them in two weeks for my cousin Samantha's wedding...they could be allies in hiding my drinking.

As we got to their house, they offered us a beer right away, and put some wine in the fridge. I knew there was going to be no hiding it this weekend...so I said "I won't be drinking this weekend. We're pregnant!" The response we got was AMAZING..."so are we!!!" Of course we jumped up and gave them huge hugs! When we asked when are they due, we could not believe the response...April 7. What!

Immediately, we began our pregnancy talk and the guys opened beers. We could not believe that our babies are going to be only a few days apart. We were married a month apart (almost to the day, our wedding rings are almost identical) so it just makes sense that we would have our first babies together. This will be the first baby in the McBride family in 16 years...so of course we should have two at one time! My Grandma Bruna is going to be a Grandma again and a Great-Great Grandma for the first time in the same month. Potentially, the same day!  CRAZY!

Have Bridget pregnant with me is going to be awesome. This weekend, it was just fun to have someone understand my weird eating. Example...lunch we shared a pretzel, I had fries and chicken fingers, and it wasn't weird when we asked the waiter for an extra pickle! We both love our carbs right now...Thank your Bridget for getting back on bagels ☺

our lunch only pregnant women can eat!

Next weekend (September 17) we will be in Oregon for Samantha's wedding. They will almost be at 12 weeks, so they are going to tell some people. I cannot wait for my parents to find out. My mom keeps saying "how fun it would be for Bridget and I to be pregnant at the same time." All I say, "I really hope it happens." She is going to freak when she finds out!

I cannot wait to tell my brothers and Molly next weekend. And I think we are telling the Grandma's too!

Heading to Oregon

We are heading to Oregon tomorrow for the first time since we were pregnant. It is going to be a very exciting weekend telling my brothers, Molly + the Grandmas! We are so excited! We are 10 weeks today and everything is good!

This week I was exhausted and really missed coffee! I think I may have to get a decaf pumpkin spice latte in Oregon...it will make it feel like fall!

Meet Baby H

We had our first doctor appointment today...and EVERYTHING is looking good! We had the ultra sound, and could see Baby H's little heart beating so fast...AMAZING! We couldn't believe how we noticed it without even Dr. Deka telling us. She said with a strong heartbeat like that, there is only a 3% chance of a miscarriage. Still not out 100% of the woods, but it is a good thing to hear! We got our official due date too...April 12, 2012!

After the fun part of the ultra sound I had to go do my blood work. For those of you who don't know...needles and me are not friends. I didn't feel nervous, but as I sat there I had the "oh no I am going to faint!"feeling. I told Bill to come over, and I told the nurse I think I am going to faint. I know from previous experience that I am supposed to do heavy coughs to get my blood pressure up. The other nurse got me we clothes (I saw double of her) to put on my forehead and neck. Bill got me water, and I am happy say I did not faint. I was extremely close, but I pulled myself out of it (with the help of others). Four viles later...and about 10 minutes of just sitting and sucking on a sucker, we could leave the blood work area and check out!

Our next appointment is October 4. We will be over 12 weeks! Woohoo!
